PART-TIME TRAINING
3 days a week, 4 terms a year


ACTING & VOCAL UNITS:
  • Stage Acting – Level I to II
  • Improvisation
  • Vocal Training – Level I to II
  • Vocal Ensemble – Level I to IV

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

– Applicants must 16 or over by the time the course starts
– 1 to 2 years of experience at an amateur or community level in at least 2 of the 4 core disciplines (acting, singing, dancing or musical theatre) are recommended

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION (optional):

ASSOCIATED DIPLOMA OF MUSICAL THEATRE
At the end of their first year, students will be given the opportunity to seat the Associated Diploma in Performing Arts (ATCL) exam in partnership with Trinity College London.

This exam is NOT MANDATORY and entirely the student’s choice. Students can study the full Year 1 course with us without having to sit the exam.

The associated Diploma (ATCL) is recommended (but not mandatory) before continuing onto Year 2.
The ATCL Exam triggers an additional fee not included in the course.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

– Completion of the Professional Musical Theatre Program (Year 1) is mandatory to join the Advanced Musical Theatre Program

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS (optional):

LICENTIATE DIPLOMA OF MUSICAL THEATRE
At the end of their second year, students will be given the opportunity to seat the Licentiate Diploma in Performing Arts (LTCL) exam exam in partnership with Trinity College London.

This exam is NOT MANDATORY and entirely the student’s choice. Students can study the full Year 2 course with us without having to sit the exam.

The LTCL Exam triggers an additional fee not included in the course.

Students must be over 16 to enrol in this course

Course Duration:
MUSICAL THEATRE PROGRAM: 1 year, part-time, 4 terms a year, 10 weeks per term.
ADVANCED MUSICAL THEATRE PROGRAM: 2 years, part-time, 4 terms a year, 10 weeks per term.

Timetable:
The PROFESSIONAL MUSICAL THEATRE PROGRAM is a part-time course.
Students are expected to attend between 16 and 18 hours of classes onsite over 3 consecutive days per week.

1 to 2 years of previous experience (ie. ‘amateur/community theatre level’) in at least 2 of the 4 core disciplines (acting, singing, dancing or musical theatre) are recommended.

Mindset: The Performing Arts are a very competitive and tough industry. Professional performers are often asked to work 10-12 hours a day; they perform at the highest level 8 shows per week for month on end. At LVBA, we help our students develop resilience, self-confidence, professionalism and commitment.

By completing this course:
Students have the opportunity to apply as actors, vocalists, dancers and Musical Theatre performers to professional paid positions in Musical Theatre, Theatre, Film/TV, Cruises, Festivals, Councils/Government Events, and/or tertiary and private teaching institutions.
